Carlow Cricket Club ends Season with Presentation of Jersey to Young Players

Carlow Cricket Club officially wrapped up the cricket season with a presentation of the club’s jersey to each Kids Softball player who participated in the Kids Softball training session held at Carlow College, St. Patrick’s on Sunday, October 3.
The presentation was facilitated by the club’s chairperson Mohammed Rafique, and its proud sponsors – Eoin Kehoe of Kehoe Auctioneers and Gopi Singh of GS Cricket who took part in the presentation ceremony.
Over the season the young players have displayed professional skills, development, determination and enjoyment while following ‘the Spirit of Cricket’ as they traveled to Begenalstown, Laois, Kilkenny and Wexford to play matches.
The club has also run its first-ever Summer Camp in partnership with Carlow Regional Youth Services and Cricket Leinster at Carlow College, St. Patrick’s.
The club acknowledges the contributions and supports of parents and special mention to Laeeq Ur Rehman, the captain of the Development Team, the coaching staff, Carlow College, St. Patrick’s and supporters for creating a healthy environment for young players to develop, play and enjoy cricket.
The club also recognises the supports of sponsors – Carlow County Development Partnership, GS Cricket, Kehoe Auctioneers, Paddy The Turk and XL Big Pollerton.
The club currently runs a cricket coaching programme in Askea Girls National School and Educate Together NS with Bernard O’Mara from Cricket Leinster. The club also plans to host a winter cricket training session.
